Rating by category:
The pool is very large and my kids love to swim! This hotel has a great location for a tour of Ottawa.
The daily maid service left a bit wanting as they did not vacuum each day.
The staff were fabulous we didn't meet one unfriendly or disinterested person
Old and shabby
concierge and staff very helpful and welcoming.
I saw when I got there that the hotel will be renovated. that is fine - for later guests - but i found the rooms very run down - paint peeling - door frames with holes and the bathrooms needing some repair. I was surprised at the disrepair and did not notice the renovations notices until later.
Very good for city trip, clean and comfort.
The welcoming atmosphere and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff at the hotel made my wife's and my stay a very pleasant experience that certainly made a positive first impression for both the hotel and the City of Ottawa. From the Concierge to the Front Desk to the Cleaning Staff, all were warm, friendly and always willing to assist in any way they could. Of particular note, Stephen at the Front Desk was extremely professional, welcoming and couldn't do enough to help and ensure our stay was a memorable experience. Additionally, the Concierge, George was always quite friendly and helpful with my questions. I will definitely be returning to the Delta City Centre on my next trip to Ottawa.
My sole complaint about the hotel was the size of the bed in my suite. A double bed for two people doesn't work as it truly doesn't provide enough room for a couple to sleep together. Otherwise, all apsects were excellent throughout our stay.
Quick response of staff to problems that arose.
The location of the hotel was better than expected - it provided easy access to major routes and was only a 5-minute drive to the downtown core. Having a Timmies in the same building was a bonus.
Delta isn't kidding when they say it's time to renovate the hotel. The room was inadequate (small, lights didn't work, windows leaked, cracked walls) relative to the price being charged.
Our room was not ready at 4:20 when we checked in, but they set us up in another one with a king size bed instead of two queens which was just fine. It was fairly central to all attractions.
No surprises in room set-up. Pool, gym, restaurant and bar are useful facilities, although we didn't use them this visit
Our room was opposite the elevators and the area got very noisy late Saturday night, keeping us from sleeping
They were able to accommodate us and honour the Booked.net rate even though they had no record of my booking. I showed them the printed confirmation you sent me.
There is another Delta hotel kitty-corner from this one, so we parked and went to the wrong hotel first. A lot of guests were making this mistake. There should be a red flag on their website warning people of the proximity of the hotels so that they could avoid this tiring error as we had to move our car as well.
I liked the Tim Horton's in the lobby. That was the best deal. The parking was awful. The room was the size of a shoe box and the bathroom the size of a raisin box. The decor is 60's, and the beds were awful. I was totally duped in this. The bathtub plug did not stay up, therefore filling the tub 1 minute into my shower. The channel changer stuck, so just watching tv was a challenge. They claim there is a "parkade" in the front of the building while under construction. There is a curb and road. There is nothing. For $165/night, I was ripped off. I will never stay at this hotel again.Never!!!
No computer services available in the business room, during 4 full days in a row! Food quality at restaurant rather poor compared to Holiday Inn Toronto Airport and Sheraton Ottawa.
The staff is exceptional and friendly and courtious. It means a lot to be greeted by sincerely pleasant people.
Nothing comes to mind. :)
Staff were fantastic. I felt they really enjoyed their jobs, and seemed happy to be there. We had a couple glitches ( see next section), but they were handled efficiently and quickly. Room service food was fantastic! I travel a lot for work, and was very impressed.
The first room was right next to the elevators, and the vibrations were unnerving. I went down to the front desk, and they relocated me without any hassle or questions. Problem with pay per view, called the front desk, and within 2 minutes a technician was in my room to successfully fix the problem.
The breakfast buffet was very good, the staff was very pleasant
We found the room a bit expendive as there's no breakfast include, neather parking, and as we were there while the renovation ( and didn'tknow about), maybe expecting a discount for the situation...
